Professional Preparation Program for Principal Certification

Program Description

Lamar's Professional Preparation Program for Principal Certification is available to applicants with a regionally-accredited master’s in any field.  The program allows educators to continue their professional development in school leadership and administration.

You must have a teaching certificate and two years of practical teaching experience. Waivers of any experience or certification requirements will be initiated by Lamar Admissions staff as necessary in instances where they may not apply, such as applications from states that do not require certification for licensure. Those applicants who intend to certify in Texas must have a Texas teaching certificate.

You are required to complete 18 hours of coursework as outlined in their degree plan. A certificate of completion is issued after the student completes the required 18 hours.
