Professional Preparation Program - Certificate in Counseling and Development
The Certificate Program in Counseling and Development matches the additional educational requirements for school counselors to pursue licensure in the state of Texas. The program can be completed in a minimum of five terms (approximately 30 weeks) and consists of 16 credit hours of coursework including a practicum.
This program has been designed to prepare professional counselors to practice in a broader range of settings including community agencies, hospitals, and other mental health related facilities.
Lamar University anticipates graduates of this program will assume professional counseling positions and be equipped to model the highest ideals and ethics of their profession as they provide services to the public.
*Lamar Graduate Education Programs do not permit students to take coursework for transient credit.
Tuition and Fees*
eTuition: $705 per 3-hour course
Required Fee: $120 per 3-hour course
