Master of Education in Special Education Generic
The M.Ed. Special Education program provides graduate students:
- a functional foundation in historical and current issues pertinent to the field of special education
- curriculum modifications for instruction and assessment based upon theory, research, and exploration
- opportunity to demonstrate competency and apply knowledge through practical applications
Graduates can seek opportunities as:
- special education director/department head
- integrated curriculum developer/supervisor
- assessment coordinator
- integrated classroom teacher
You may write a thesis which substitutes for 6 credit hours. Successful completion of the Lamar Proficiency Exam in Special Education is required as a comprehensive exam.
This program does not automatically lead to certification.
